James 1:22-25

Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, and so deceiving yourselves. For anyone merely hearing the Word without doing what it says, is like someone who views their face in a mirror and then walks away, forgetting what they look like. But one who looks intently into the perfect law, the law of freedom, then perseveres, not forgetting what they have heard, but being a doer who acts, will be blessed in what they do.

Psalm 37:27-29

Turn away from evil and do good; then you will live securely forever. For the LORD loves justice, and will never abandon his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, while the children of the wicked will perish. The righteous will inherit the land and live there forever.

1 Peter 4:15-16

Let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a trouble maker, or even for meddling into other people's business. Never be ashamed, however, if one of you suffers for being a Christian, but rather, praise GOD that you wear that wonderful name.

Hebrews 12:14-15

Pursue peace with everyone, and to be holy, for without holiness, no one will see the LORD. See to it that none of you misses out on the grace of GOD, and that no root of bitterness springs up to cause trouble and defile many.

Psalm 37:1-6

Do not fret about the wicked, and do not be envious of those who do wrong. For like grass, they will soon wither; like green herbs, they will die away. Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your life to the LORD. Rely on him, and he will help you. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

1 Peter 4:12-13

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. Rejoice! Rejoice because you participate in the sufferings of CHRIST, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

1 Timothy 5:3-6, 9-16

Honor women who are truly widows, having no one to care for them. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, their first responsibility is caring for their family, which shows godliness and repays their parents, for this is pleasing to GOD. A true widow, in real need and all alone, puts her hope in GOD and continues night and day to pray, asking GOD for help. Whereas the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives. Enroll widows sixty years old or more, having been the wife of one man, and having a reputation for doing good: such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, being humble, helping those in trouble, devoted to doing good deeds. Do not enroll younger widows, for when their passions overcome their dedication to CHRIST, they will want to get married. Breaking their first pledge, they will bring judgment on themselves. Besides that, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. So I advise that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage their homes, and to never give the enemy an opportunity for slander. Some have in fact already turned away to follow satan. If a believer has a widow in their family, let them care for her, so that he church will not be burdened, and can care for those widows who really are alone.

2 Peter 3:8-9

Dear friends, do not overlook the fact that with the LORD a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The LORD is not slow in keeping his promises, as some understand slowness. He is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance.

2 Timothy 3:10-13

You know what I teach, how I live, and my purpose in life. You know about my faith, my patience, my love, my perseverance, my suffering, and the persecutions I endured in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. Out of them all the LORD delivered me. Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in CHRIST JESUS will suffer persecution, while evil people and impostors go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

1 John 2:15-17

Neither love the world, nor what the world has to offer, because love of the world and love of the FATHER cannot coexist in anyone. For all that the world has to offer - desires of the flesh, desires of the eyes, and pride in possessions - is not of the FATHER, but of the world. The world will pass away, along with its desires, but whoever does the will of GOD lives forever.

Psalm 19:7-11

The laws of the LORD are perfect, refreshing the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making the simple wise. The precepts of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commandments of the LORD are clear, giving light to the eyes. Fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are true and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. By them your servant is warned, and there is great reward in keeping them.

2 Peter 3:1-7

This is now, dearly beloved, the second letter that I have written to you, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your sincere mind by reminding you that you should remember the words of the holy prophets and the commandments of our LORD and SAVIOR given through apostles. First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come following their own evil desires. They will ask, "Where is the promised second coming? From the days of our ancestors everything has continued as it has since the creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago just a word from GOD formed the earth out of water and through water, and with water the world overflowed and perished. And the present heavens and earth will be consumed by fire, with just a word, on the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

As for those who are well off financially, instruct them to neither be arrogant, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living GOD, who richly provides us with everything we need to enjoy. Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous - willing to share. By doing this they will be storing up for themselves real treasure, the right foundation for the future, so that they may lay hold of real life eternal.

1 John 4:7-8

Dearly Beloved, continue to love one another, for love comes from GOD. Whoever is loving has been born of GOD and knows GOD. But whoever does not love does not know GOD, because GOD is love.

Colossians 1:12-14

Give thanks to the Father, who enabled you to share in the inheritance
of the saints of light. For he has rescued us from the power of
darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom
we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins.

James 2:14-18

What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but there is no action to show for it? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or sister is in need of clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Good luck. I hope things get better for you," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is that? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. Some may argue, "You have faith, and I have good deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

Acts 3:11-16

The crowd rushed to Solomon's Colonnade, where the lame beggar, who had just been healed, clung to Peter and John. Everyone was astonished. When Peter saw this, he addressed the people: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you look at us as if we have healed this man by our own power or godliness? The GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the GOD of our fathers, has glorified his servant, JESUS. You delivered him, and then disowned him when Pilate decided to let him go. You disowned the HOLY and RIGHTEOUS ONE, and then asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the AUTHOR of LIFE, but GOD raised him to life, and we are witnesses. By faith in the name of JESUS, the man you see here was healed. In the name of JESUS, and the faith that comes through him, this man is completely healed, as you can all see."

Hebrews 3:12-14

Make certain, brothers and sisters, that none of you develops a sinful, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living GOD. But encourage one another every day, all day long, so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we share in all that is CHRIST if we hold on to our confidence as from the beginning.

1 John 5:20-21

We know that the SON of GOD has come, and he has given us an understanding, so that we may know the one who is true. And we are in him who is true, in his SON, JESUS CHRIST. He is the one and only true GOD, and he is eternal life. Dearly Beloved, stay away from idols.

Ephesians 2:19-22

You Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens among the people of GOD. You are a part of the house of GOD, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, CHRIST JESUS himself being the CHIEF CORNERSTONE. In him the whole stucture is joined together to become a holy temple for the LORD. And in him you too are being joined together to become a dwelling place in which GOD lives by his SPIRIT.

1 Peter 2:23-25

When JESUS was insulted, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he did not threaten. Instead, he committed himself to GOD who judges righteously. He bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might die to sin, and live in righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed, for you were wandering around like lost sheep, but now you have returned to your SHEPHERD, the GUARDIAN of your souls.

1 Timothy 6:11-16

But as for you, O man of GOD, flee from evil. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of GOD, who gives life to all things, and of CHRIST JESUS, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, that you keep the commandment without stain and above reproach until the appearing of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, which he will bring about in his time - our GOD, the blessed and only SOVEREIGN, the KING of kings and LORD of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has either seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

1 John 5:2-5

Here is how we can know that we love the children GOD: if we love GOD, and if we obey his commands. For loving GOD means obeying his commands, and his commandments are not burdensome, because every one who is born of God has overcome the world. Faith is the victory that has overcome the world. And the only ones who win the battle against the world are the ones who believe that JESUS is the SON of GOD.

Psalm 15

Who may dwell in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may live on your holy hill? He who leads a blameless life, doing what is right, and speaking truth from his heart. He speaks no slander, does his neighbor no wrong, and never speaks evil of his friends. He despises a vile man, but honors those who fear the LORD. He keeps his promises, even when it hurts, lends money without interest, and refuses any bribe to testify against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

Luke 6:43-45

A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. A tree is identified by the kind of fruit it produces. Figs cannot grow on thornbushes and grapes cannot grow on briar bushes. A good person produces good from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil from an evil heart. What comes out of your mouth depends on what fills your heart.

John 5:36-47

JESUS, speaking to the Jews who were persecuting him, said, "My testimony is greater than John's, because every work the FATHER has given me to accomplish, I am, which is testimony that the FATHER has sent me. And the FATHER who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You, however, have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form, and his word does not live in you, because you don't believe the one he sent. You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you will not come to me, the one who gives eternal life. My glory is not from man, and I know you well: you do not have the love of GOD within you. I come in my FATHER's name, but you refuse to accept me; yet when someone else comes in his own name, you do accept him. How can you believe, you who accept praise from one another, when you do not seek the glory that comes from the one and only GOD? Even so, I am not the one who will accuse you before the FATHER. Your accuser is Moses, the very one on whom you put all your hope. If you really believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how will you ever believe me?"

1 John 3:10

This is how you can tell the difference between the children of GOD and children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of GOD, and neither is anyone who does not love his brother.

1 John 3:7-9

Dear Beloved, let no one deceive you: the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. And he who is in the habit of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. One reason the SON of GOD appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of GOD makes a practice of sinning, because GOD's seed lives in him. He cannot go on sinning because he has been born of God.

Psalm 36:5-9

Your unfailing lovingkindness, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains; your justice like the deepest oceans. O LORD, you care for both man and beast. How precious is your steadfast love, O GOD. All mankind can take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They are filled from the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from your rivers of delight. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

We never give up. While our bodies are decaying on the outside, inwardly our spirits are being renewed day by day. Though our current troubles are light and brief, they produce for us an eternal glory beyond comparison. So instead of dwelling on what we see now, we look forward to the future. For what we see now is temporary, but what is to come is eternal.
