1 Peter 3:18-22

Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous dying for the unrighteous, that he might lead us to God. He was put to death in the flesh, and made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago as God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only eight souls were saved through water. The water symbolizes baptism, which now saves you - not the removal of dirt from the body, but an appeal to God from a clean conscience. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who, having gone on to heaven, is at the right hand of God - with all angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.
