Hebrews 2:1-9
We ought to pay greater attention to the things we heard, so that we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by angels proved binding, and every transgression and disobedience received an appropriate punishment, how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation, which at first was declared by the LORD, and then passed on to us by the very people who heard him speak? GOD also bore witness with them with signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT distributed according to his divine plan. Now, it was not to angels that GOD subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. For somewhere in Scripture it says, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the SON of man, that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything under his feet." Now, in making everything subject to him, GOD left nothing out of his control, even though at present we do not yet see it that way. But we do see JESUS, who was made a little lower than the angels for a time, and now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death. By the grace of GOD, he tasted death for everyone.
