1 John 2:3-8

When we obey the commandments of GOD, we can be sure that we know him. Anyone who claims to know GOD but does not obey his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in them. But when we obey his word, the love of GOD can be fully expressed in us, and this is how we know that we are in him. Anyone who claims to live in GOD must walk as JESUS did. Dearly beloved, I am not giving you a new commandment, for this is an original one you have had since the beginning - an old command you have heard before. Yet it is a new command in a way, and it's truth is seen in him and in you. The darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
