2 Peter 2:4-9

If GOD did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell, committing them to gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; and if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on a world of ungodly people, saving Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and his family; and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to extinction by turning them to ashes, making them an example of what will happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was very distressed by all the immorality and wickedness around him (for he was a righteous man, living among them, and his righteous soul was tormented day after day by the immorality he saw and heard); then the LORD knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and the LORD knows how to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.
