Matthew 6:5-8
When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to be seen praying in synagogues and on street corners. I tell you the truth: they have their reward. Instead, when you pray, close the door and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything done in private, will openly reward you. And when you pray, do not go on and on in vain as some do, thinking they will be heard because of their many words. You do not have to pray like that, because your Father already knows what you need before you ask him.
