Mark 1:9-13
One day, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River. All at once, as he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens being torn open, and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove. A voice came from Heaven, saying, "You are my dearly-beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!" Immediately the Holy Spirit compelled Jesus to go out into the wilderness. And there he remained for forty days being tempted by satan. He was among the wild animals, and angels attended him.
