Acts 3:1-10
One afternoon, Peter and John were on their way to the temple for the three o'clock hour of prayer. A man who had been crippled from birth was being carried to a temple gate, the one called Beautiful, where he spent every day begging from those who entered. Seeing Peter and John about to go in, he asked them for money. Peter looked intently at the man, as did John, and Peter said, "Look at us!" So the man looked at them eagerly, expecting to receive something. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold have I none, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!" Peter took him by the right hand and helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began walking. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the beggar who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
