Hebrews 2:10-18

In bringing many children to glory, it was all together fitting that GOD, for whom and through whom everything was made, should make JESUS, the author of their salvation, perfect through suffering. And both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from the same FATHER, so JESUS is not ashamed to call them family. He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters, and I will put my trust in him. Here am I with the children GOD has given me.” Since the children are of flesh and blood, he too became flesh and blood so that through his death he would destroy the devil’s power and deliver those who through the fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. Without a doubt it is Abraham’s descendants he helps, not angels, and for this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service to GOD, to make atonement for the sins of the people. For in his suffering and temptation he is able to help those who are being tempted.
