John 5:16-23

The Jews persecuted JESUS and sought to kill him for breaking their Sabbath rules. But JESUS said to them, "My FATHER continues to work, so I too am working." Because of that remark, the Jews were even more determined to kill him, for not only was he breaking their Sabbath rules, but he called GOD his own FATHER, making himself equal with GOD. So JESUS said to them, "I assure you that the SON can do nothing of himself; he can only do what he sees his FATHER doing. Whatever the FATHER does, that the SON does also. For the FATHER loves the SON and shows him all he does. In fact, to your amazement, he will show him even greater things than healing a man. For example, just as the FATHER raises the dead and gives them life, the SON will do likewise to whomever he pleases. What is more: the FATHER judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the SON, so that all may honor the SON even as they honor the FATHER. He who does not honor the SON, does not honor the FATHER who sent him."
