Luke 6:31-35

Treat everyone as you would like to be treated. If you only love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good only to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that much. And if you only lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners and expect a full return. Instead, you are to love your enemies and do good to them, and even lend, without expecting anything back. You will be acting as children of the Most High God, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked, and your reward will be great.
