Then he said to them, "Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight to ask, 'Friend, may I borrow some food? A friend of mine on a journey has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.' Suppose the one inside calls out, 'Not now. The door is locked and we're all in bed. I cannot help you right now.' But I tell you that though he may not get up to help out of friendship, he will get up if you keep on asking, and give you all you need. And so I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. He who seeks, finds. To him who knocks, the door will be opened.
