Mark 2:23-28
One Sabbath, as Jesus and his disciples were walking through a grain field, they began to pluck some ears of corn. The Pharisees were watching and said to him, "Why are they doing what is forbidden on the Sabbath?" And he said to them, "Have you never read what David and his companions did when they became hungry? He entered the house of God during the time when Abiathar was the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is only lawful for the priests to eat. He also gave some to those who were with him." Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
