1 Timothy 2:1-6

I urge you to make requests, say prayers, ask for intercessions, and give thanks, first of all for everyone; then also for kings, and all who are in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and virtue. This is good and it pleases our Savior God, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth. There is only one God and one mediator between God and man: Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all - a fact that was attested to at the proper time.
