Philippians 1:12-18
I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have served to advance the gospel. In fact, throughout the whole palace guard and elsewhere it is known that I am in chains for Christ. My imprisonment has even encouraged most of the brothers in the Lord to speak the Word of God boldly and without fear. Sure, some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry; but others out of goodwill and love, knowing that I am here to defend the gospel. The former preach Christ with selfish motives, and without sincerity, intending to stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But in the end, what does it matter? The most important thing is that in every way, whether from false or genuine motives, Christ is preached. So I rejoice, and will continue to rejoice.
